Granted, rear brakes have historically not been a significant player in the Sportbike market, but never before has a truly innovative full-floating rotor been developed and targeted for this application. With it’s distinctive design, improved performance parameters and huge weight reduction, BrakeTech bring an entirely new dimension to this element of braking technology.
Unique in design and appearance, the AXIS rear floaters will be a limited premium line intended for late model European and select Japanese Sportbikes (for use with OE calipers). Incorporating BrakeTech's patented floating architecture which is the hallmark of their AXIS front floaters, these lightweight 100% billet units weigh at 10-35% less than the OE units. All of the considerable braking forces are channeled through the trademarked Direct-Link™ architecture, comprising over an 800% increase in surface area load transfer as compared to conventional floating brake rotors…simply far superior by design! Race-spec ductile iron units improve overall brake response with not just more power but strategically, considerably improved control and modulation at the brake pedal (as well as reducing brake drag).
AXIS/Iron Black GunKote: This is a rust inhibiting coating which is thermally bonded on to minimize corrosion. It must be cleared from the pad sweep area before the rotors become fully functional. Please click here for the one page instruction guide: AXIS Iron Rotor Clearing instructions
For ABS models: The ABS sensor ring must be relieved around the bobbin area in order to allow space for the ring to sit flush on the carrier.
Entirely made in the U.S.A.
Please note: Caliper bracket may need modification to clear rotor buttons.
